Our Fave Costa Rican Restaurants near Ralia Retreats

The Surf Box - in Playa Flamingo *No Res Needed

Breakfast and lunches (fast-casual)

This restaurant offers amazing food such as smoothies, bowls, and salads. They also have a sister restaurant called The Cafeteria about a 10 minute drive from Playa Flamingo which offers an equally sumptuous menu.

Patagonia - in Brasilito *Res Needed in High Season

Lunch and dinner (upscale casual)

This is a fave place to take the kiddos for lunch on a hot day (so any day in Costa Rica). The kids can splash in pool while we dine. The menu is large and has something for everyone. My personal fave is the poke bowl.

Castillo de Lilo *Res Needed

Dinner by reservation (fine-dining).

For a highlight meal and adventure we highly recommend a dinner out at Castillo de Lilo. The views are truly spectacular and the story behind the castle is one-of-a-kind and not to be missed when visiting us.

We highly recommend getting transportation to and from the restaurant for safety and to get to relax and enjoy the sights.

Vida Bowls *No Res Needed

A food truck to chase!

We have spent time chasing this food truck around the area. It often parks in Huacas which is about 15 minutes from Playa Flamingo. But, this food truck travels and you would be wise to catch it when it parks in Playa Flamingo. Go to their IG account to find out where they are on any given day!

Hemingways - in Potrero *No Res Needed

Lunch, dinner kid friendly food! (upscale, casual)

The oceanfront vibe right next to the Costa Rica sailing club makes this spot feel lively and fun. The food is so good our children still speak about it to this day. Their burgers (regular or black bean) were a huge hit.

Of course there are more restaurants than this. If you are curious to get all the insider info on restaurants, grocery stores, and markets you will love being hosted by Chef Dania Fallas while you visit with us. Make sure to ask for recommendations.
