A Regular Meditation Practice Made Easier

Want to know how I am keeping my brain and body fit and resilient this winter? Cue: less seasonal depression and so much less anxiety about my busy life.

I use meditation. But meditation is not one thing. Meditation is like a tool box with many types of tools inside that can help with so many different ailments.

The reason I share this as news worthy is because I am making meditation more accessible through my real estate opportunities, and I want to know where you feel you fit in.

Perhaps you would like...

I am also currently working on offering an immersive mediation experience for both overnight stays and daytime events at a new project on St-Laurent blvd near downtown Montreal. In a future newsletter I will spill all about it!

I believe that sitting cross legged with eyes closed is only one version of meditation and far from the only type of meditation in the toolbox.

The simplest acts of stillness can become powerful meditation practices too. This is why walking outside, feeling closer to nature, and pausing to admire the beauty of nature feels so good.

When I first started setting aside time to “practice” meditation I thought I had to learn some rules. One guide said that for a mediation to be effective it had to be at least 20 minutes long of sitting in silence. Then years later, a neuro-scientist, Dr. Andrew Huberman, shared in his detailed podcast that a 3 minute meditation was effective for my goals. He also went on to say that “Meditation isn’t just one thing – like exercise, different meditation practices have a specific focus or goal.”

If you are like me, you could use support to meditate more.

I am here for it.

I am here to help you meditate more.

Today, I will offer you a short list of my favourite ways to meditate for my goals. This is not to imply that you should do exactly what I do, but to give you hope that your most effective meditations for your goals may be things you already do or that you can do with me and my expert colleagues!

#1. Taking a picture of nature’s beauty (even if mother nature gave us heck… think of the winter in the north)

Montreal’s first snowfall is always both super tough and super beautiful!

#2. Listening to the waves of the Pacific in front of our Costa Rican rental.

Listen to the sound of the waves here:

#3. Running and listening to brain state boosting music

#4. Yoga with Marian Paniagua from Costa Rica

#5. Advanced meditation group practice with Sara Gallagher-Bloom

I would love to hear back from you with the one that resonated with you the most.

Meditation is like exercise for the brain and I am excited for you to share your experience and live in a state of mental fitness that a regular meditation practice will bring!
